Our Story
Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA) means Centre for Education and Consciousness. Founded in Pakistan in 2000, ITA began with a powerful belief – that every child has the right to quality education.
In 2002, ITA UK was established as a registered charity to extend this mission internationally – building partnerships, raising funds, and connecting supporters in the UK and beyond to transformative education work in Pakistan.
Over the last two decades, we’ve helped transform hundreds of schools, trained thousands of teachers, and equipped countless children with the tools, confidence, and opportunities to shape their own futures.
Our Mission
At ITA UK our mission It to advance education in innovative and inclusive ways – from supporting the running of improvement programmes, teacher training, and exchange schemes, to providing schools with much-needed resources and technology. We build partnerships with educational organisations across South Asia and conduct vital research to influence policy and practice.

Our Impact
Why We Exist
In many parts of Pakistan and South Asia, children face barriers to education due to poverty, gender inequality, and lack of resources. ITA UK exists to remove those barriers – not just by funding classrooms, but by transforming the entire learning experience so that education becomes a tool for empowerment and change.
Guided by Our Trustees
Our work is led by a dedicated board of trustees who bring expertise in education, governance, community engagement, and philanthropy. Their leadership ensures our mission remains focused, our operations stay transparent, and every donation is used to create the greatest possible impact.
